Mar/Apr 2019 edition Issue #4 AutoMobilia Resource Magazine Amy Markle Event travel will soon begin in earnest and I look forward to sharing my discoveries with you. In the meantime here are some new products I’ve found for 2019 and some belated finds from 2018.
Despite cold rainy weather at the Rolex 24 at Daytona race in January, Mitch Bishop and Mark Raffauf had an exceptional debut of their new book “IMSA 1969-1989”. Both men have a long history with IMSA and their expertise shows in the depth and quality of their writing. They will be attending many IMSA and SVRA races throughout the season. Be sure to pick up a copy and have it signed.
VW owners have long been leaders in collecting and using unique automobilia. A vintage VW litho picnic box rests on the back seat of Bob & Lucretia Cropsey’s 1950 VW Beetle at the Lime Rock Historic Festival - Gathering of the Marques. An early VW Beetle sports an original tool kit, another has a rat rod style accessory STOP light attached to the back bumper, and finally there was an oval window Beetle with a ski rack on the engine cover of the car. All three were seen at California’s Solvang Veteranentreffen.
