1964 Cooper Monaco
CM/3/64 Six type-61 Cooper Monacos were built in 1964 and sold to the USA. Four went to Shelby American and were powered by the Ford 289 V-8 and called the King Cobra. One went to John Mecum. This car, CM/3/64, went to Jack Brewer in Upstate N.Y. and was raced with a fuel-injected 327 CID Chevrolet V-8 and BMC Huffaker transaxle. This car is all original, including its original aluminum body, chassis, BMC Huffaker transaxle, Hilborne fuel injection and period-correct motor. It had success in SCCA and USRRC competition, which is well documented by period photographs, magazine articles and race reports.
